Low car, wide wheels and unique styling – the holy trinity for Kori and his KE70

“A car without cool wheels is like Cinderella without her shoe.”

Rolling around in the back of a VG Valiant squished between his three siblings on the bench seat, Kori’s love for cars and his distinct style started before he even realized.
“My parents were always about low cars and wide wheels and that’s where it all came from for me," he said.
“Dad had more cars than I could count and always ran little 14 and 15 inch wheels on old Falcons and Kingswoods and Mum would have massive offset on her car.
“I think getting into cars for me has pushed me so far in life, I wouldn’t be where I’m at without it because you need the money for it.”
Now with his slammed KE70 repping a set of Goodyear Viva wheels, restored and resized by AHWW, Kori says his obsession was a slippery slope from the moment he got his hands on a R31 Skyline as a P-plater.
“When I got my licence I was looking for a R31 because they were so cheap at the time but it was always a toss up between that or a KE70.
“This KE has been in my life since I was 18 but I have only owned it for the past three or four years.
“My good mate in Toowoomba would always help me fix my cars and he bought this so I ended up swapping my Dard (R31) for it.
“This one has a 4AGE in it and it’s a weapon – you can hurt yourself in this car.”
As for the wheels, this wasn’t meant to be a love at first sight story. Kori wasn’t in the market for new wheels as we had just finished another set for his Patrol that he was picking up but after spotting them at our workshop, he couldn’t leave without them.
“These are so unique and I feel like the styling I go for is a little left field because I like to be different.
“There is being different just because you want to be different but then there is being different because you want to push past boundaries.
“I feel like these wheels do that – no one even knows what they are and that’s the coolest thing about them to me.
“It’s close enough to draw your eye to think they are Advans but then you get closer and you’re like ‘wait a minute, what are those?’.”
While the wheels weren’t specifically built for Kori’s KE, they allowed him to bring his vision together and we couldn’t have imagined a better fit.
“You need to have your fitment right because if it’s not dialed in, you can tell and it looks like you have half styled your car.
“The wheel scrub in the back was a necessity for my wheels because if I’m going to put wheels on a car they have to barely fit.
“The Goodyears just go with the vibe and the style that I’m going for.”
